Retrieving text from RichTextField control of SharePoint
May 30, 2012

If you are new to using SharePoint’s RichTextField control, then you are most bound to scratch your head on this one.

While using code behind for SharePoint’s RichTextField, the control would very well place all your text inside the control through its “Value” or “Text” property. But when you try to fetch the same values back in your code using these properties.. taaadaaaaa… you get only blank value.

Solution: use the RichTextField controls “”.HiddenInput.Value”” property to fetch the controls value back in your code.
