“command line error” while using “stsadm” command
May 8, 2012

When ever you get this error while using “”stsadm”” command, the best thing you could do is to delete the hyphens (“”-“”) in your command and re-type them manually. Doing this solves the error in most cases.

This is caused mostly when you are copy-pasting the command in command prompt and due to ascii notation differences, the hyphens are not considered as command hyphens while executing the command.
