“command line error” while using “stsadm” command

When ever you get this error while using “”stsadm”” command, the best thing you could do is to delete the hyphens (“”-“”) in your command and re-type them manually. Doing this solves the error in most cases.

This is caused mostly when you are copy-pasting the command in command prompt and due to ascii notation differences, the hyphens are not considered as command hyphens while executing the command.
